About Retro Lab
Retro Lab is a free web hub for retro gaming enthusiasts. It offers converters for PSP (PlayStation Portable) and PS1 (PlayStation) disc images, alongside Korean translation patches for Mega Drive and other consoles. Every conversion runs entirely inside your web browser (client-side) — no file is ever uploaded to a server. Your game backups never leave your computer, so your privacy and your data stay safe.
No installation, no sign-up. All you need is a browser, and it works the same on Windows, macOS and Linux. Large files are processed in the background with Web Workers, so the page stays responsive while converting.
Features
- CSO / ZSO / ISO conversion — convert PSP disc images between the three formats. CSO is the smallest, ZSO loads faster on PSP, and ISO is the uncompressed original.
- PS1 → EBOOT.PBP — turn PS1 disc images into an EBOOT.PBP you can run on a PSP. Multi-disc sets and custom artwork are supported.
- PS1 → CHD — convert PS1 discs to CHD, the compressed format widely used by emulators.
- EBOOT inspection — analyse the internal structure of a generated EBOOT.PBP to diagnose problems.
- ROM patching — apply .ips / .ppf / .bps / .xdelta patches to a disc image. Use it to apply Korean translation patches.
- Korean patches — Korean translation patches by console, with the author and source credited.
